FAQ

Why does volumetric weight exist?

Light but bulky parcels consume cargo space, so carriers bill the greater of actual and volumetric weight.

5000 vs 6000 divisor?

International express (DHL, FedEx, UPS) divides by 5000; domestic parcel services often use 6000. Smaller divisors yield heavier volumetric weights.

How can I reduce it?

Shrink the box—dimensions multiply, so trimming a few cm per side cuts the weight substantially. Compression bags and re-boxing help.
